Supported Import File Types

The Easify product importer supports importing of product data from either CSV (Comma Separated Value) or TAB delimited files.

The first line of the import file must contain the column headings separated by commas for CSV files, or TABs for TAB delimited files.

The minimum data you need to provide in the import file is a product description. Given a description the Easify product importer is able to use default values for any remaining columns that do not have data supplied.

Note: Some suppliers issue CSV or TAB files in ANSI text formats. If you encounter problems importing data that contains currency symbols, we recommend that you try importing the file in Unicode format. You can convert a CSV or TAB file to Unicode simply by opening it in Windows Notepad, select File->Save As and select UTF-8 in the Encoding drop down list. Save the file and it will now be in Unicode format.
