Operating System Requirements
Easify is designed to run on a PC or Laptop running Microsoft Windows.

The following version of Microsoft Windows are supported:

  Windows XP  with Service Pack 2 or higher (all editions i.e. Home, Professional)
  Windows Vista  with Service Pack 2 or higher (all editions)
  Windows 7  with Service Pack 1 or higher  (all editions)
  Windows 8  (all editions except RT Arm based tablet version)
  Windows 8.1  (all editions except RT Arm based tablet version)
  Windows 10 (all editions except Mobile and IoT)
  Windows Server 2003  with Service Pack 2 or higher (all editions)
  Windows Server 2008  with Service Pack 2 or higher  (all editions)
  Windows Server 2008 R2  with Service Pack 1 or higher  (all editions)
  Windows Server 2012  (all editions)


Both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows are fully supported.

Easify requires the .Net Framework 3.5 and Windows Installer 3.1. Easify setup will automatically check for these during the installation process, and will assist you with their installation if needed. 

We strongly recommend that you run Windows Update and install all critical updates and service packs before installing Easify.

We strongly recommend that you temporarily disable anti-virus software during the installation process, and that you reboot your computer prior to installing Easify.

Note: If you intend to run the Easify Advanced Server Upgrade (EASU) on your computer at a later date, you must be running a Professional version of Windows and not a Home edition. For example Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Professional, Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8 Professional or later. EASU is fully supported on all versions of Windows server from Server 2003 onwards. More information about EASU can be found here.


Hardware Requirements
We recommend that for computers running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 you have a minimum of 1Gb RAM installed, for computers running Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 you should have 2Gb of RAM or greater.

You will need at least 1Gb of free hard disk space to install Easify.

To network multiple computers running Easify you will need to have your computers networked via Ethernet and be using the TCPIP protocol.

We recommend that you run Easify at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater. For pure EPOS applications 1024x768 is the minimum screen resolution, for general desktop use we recommend a widescreen resolution of 1680x1050. Easify also works well on dual screen systems where one screen can be dedicated to Easify, the other to your other applications such as email and internet.

Note: For the computer on which your Easify database will be stored, we recommend the use of a mirrored (RAID 1) hard disk arrangement to provide redundancy in the event of a disk hardware failure.


SQL Server Requirements
Most users can ignore requirements for SQL server as Easify will install its own SQL Server as part of a full installation.

For advanced users that wish to install the Easify database to their own SQL Server, Easify supports the following SQL Servers:

  Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express or higher edition
  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express or higher edition
  Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express or higher edition


EPOS Hardware
Easify is compatible with most models of barcode scanner, either USB or PS/2.

Easify will work with most models of thermal receipt printer, and most models of label printer.
