What You Will Need

Please note that since YesPay was bought out by WorldPay, we only support YesPay as a legacy solution. We are no longer able to assist with setting up new YesPay accounts.

In order to be able to use YesPay with Easify you will need the following:
  • Easify version 3.52.1.22 or later version
  • Merchant account with your bank
  • YesPay Account
  • Chip & PIN Pinpad (PED) if using cardholder present transactions

Easify version 3.52.1.22 or later version
YesPay integration was introduced with Easify version 3.52.1.22 (Feature Pack 6).

If you are running an earlier version of Easify you can upgrade to the latest version for free by downloading the latest version from our website.

    Merchant account with your bank
There are three accounts that you will need in order to be able to take card payments, these are the payment gateway account (YesPay), the merchant account and your business current account.

Card payments you receive flow from the payment gateway to the merchant account to the current account.

You will no doubt already have a business current account, or if you are a startup company you will probably be in the process of setting this up. We will discuss the YesPay account in a short while.

You will need to setup the merchant account with your bank, they will be able to guide you through this process and make the necessary arrangements. Typically there are three types of merchant account (though exact terminology and account types can vary between banks):

    Retail Merchant Account
Used for processing card payments taken at the point of sale i.e. Chip & PIN transactions.

If you are using a Chip & PIN PED you will need this type of merchant account.

    MOTO Merchant account
Mail Order/Telephone Order - used when you take payments where the cardholder is not present (CNP).

If you only process card transactions over the telephone or mail order when the card holder is not physically present you will need this type of merchant account.

    Internet Merchant Account
Used for processing payments that originate on the internet i.e. online shop or ecommerce system.

You will NOT need this type of account for an Easify/YesPay chip and pin or MOTO solution.

Note: If your bank suggests this type of merchant account, this is usually an indication that the person at the bank you are dealing with has mis-understood what type of merchant account you need. This can happen if they are not personally familiar with YesPay and are mistaken in thinking that YesPay is an online (eCommerce) payment solution, where in fact YesPay just uses the internet to connect to the card processing servers instead of a phone line.

    YesPay Account
Once you have your merchant account in place you can apply for a YesPay account.

To apply for your YesPay account, download the application form here, complete it and return it to us sales@easify.co.uk. Alternately you can post it to the following address:

    Chip & PIN Pinpad (PED)
If you want to use Easify/YesPay for processing cardholder present transactions you will need a Chip & PIN PinPad (PED).

Traditional PDQ machines for taking card payments are usually rented for a monthly fee. With Easify/YesPay you purchase your own PED which means that you don;t need to rent a PDQ. You still need to pay monthly YesPay account fees, but purchasing your own PED typically equates to a cost saving over time.

More information on purchasing a PED can be found in our online shop.
