System Requirements

Operating System Requirements
Easify is designed to run on a PC or Laptop running Microsoft Windows.

The following version of Microsoft Windows are supported:

  Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2
  Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
  Windows Vista (all editions)
  Windows 7 (all editions)
  Windows Server 2003 (all editions)
  Windows Server 2008 (all editions)

Note: Easify will run on Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4, however the 3rd Party Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime components will fail to install meaning you will be unable to print reports such as quotations or invoices. We do not support installing Easify on Windows 2000 Professional.

Both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows are fully supported.

Easify requires the .Net Framework 2.0, Windows Installer 3.1 and MDAC 2.8 Service Pack 1.

We strongly recommend that you run Windows Update and install all critical updates and service packs before installing Easify.

We strongly recommend that you temporarily disable anti-virus software during the installation process, and that you reboot your computer prior to installing Easify.

Note: If you intend to run the Easify Advanced Server Upgrade (EASU) on your computer at a later date, you must be running a Professional version of Windows and not a Home edition. For example Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Professional or Windows 7 Professional or later. EASU is fully supported on all versions of Windows server from Server 2003 onwards. Hardware Requirements
We recommend that for computers running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 you have a minimum of 512Mb RAM installed, for computers running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you should have 1Gb of RAM or greater.

You will need at least 1Gb of free hard disk space to install Easify.

To network multiple computers running Easify you will need to have your computers networked via Ethernet and be using the TCPIP protocol.

We recommend that you run Easify at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater. For pure EPOS applications 1024x768 is the minimum screen resolution, for general desktop use we recommend a widescreen resolution of 1680x1050. Easify also works well on dual screen systems where one screen can be dedicated to Easify, the other to your other applications such as email and internet.

Note: For the computer on which your Easify database will be stored, we recommend the use of a mirrored (RAID 1) hard disk arrangement to provide redundancy in the event of a disk hardware failure.


SQL Server Requirements
Most users can ignore requirements for SQL server as Easify will install its own SQL Server as part of a full installation.

For advanced users that wish to install the Easify database to their own SQL Server, Easify supports the following SQL Servers:

  Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express or higher edition
  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express or higher edition


EPOS Hardware
Easify is compatible with most models of barcode scanner, either PS/2 or USB.

Easify will work with most models of thermal receipt printer, and most models of label printer that support 50mm x 25mm labels.
