Don't know if this is possible, but would be a handy feature to be able to create message in Easify and text customer using their mobile number in the customer's details screen.
Most customers now request you contact them via their mobile, most don't listen to messages, so a text would be an ideal way of letting them know.
Also you would have history of when you contacted the customer.

Our sister company uses texts as notifications to customers quite a lot. There it's done via Exchange 2010 which allows texting directly from MS Outlook. Works well to landlines too! It's a great way to get a quick message across without getting into a long discussion about the job 
Would be very doable, the only tricky bit would be in allowing for configuration of various SMS providers. Will give it some thought.

Hi Richard, maybe could be done with using a pay as you go SIM card/dongle? I know some dentists use texting from their systems to remind customers of their appointments etc.

Or we could look into selling PAYG text packages directly from Easify like we do with postcode lookups.

Would be good for us to text them when car is ready for pick-up and like dentists text you about your booking as most people have a mobile now

Definitely a good way to communicate You can also text to landline numbers, the persons landline phone will ring and a computer voice will read them the text message they were sent. Works well.
