Faint receipt printing

Hi,

I've just set up my receipt printer ( A thermal receipt printer by Approx model appPOS80AM - website at http://www.approx.es) and have set it to use the Windows driver. When I do a test receipt in Easify, the print preview looks quite faint. When I print the receipt it's so faint you can't read it.

I've tried using ESC/POS and it prints black and clear. I've also sent a Windows test page and that also prints out black and clear.

Any ideas what I can do to darken the receipts when using the Windows driver?

Thanks

This is the printed receipt

Re: Faint receipt printing

The Aqprox APPPOS80AM3 is an ESC/POS printer.

Therefore you should use it with ESC/POS and not Windows.

We've not tested Easify with this model of printer so cannot guarantee its quality.

Also please be aware that installing ESC/POS printers with the wrong driver can still allow it to print but can give you unexpected results.

If you have the right printer driver installed you may be able to change its setting by going into Windows Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right Click your printer and select Printing Preferences.

If in doubt, contact the printer manufacturer or seller for help with your printer.

For the best ESC/POS printing results we recommend using printers we've fully tested and following our installation guides.

Re: Faint receipt printing

There are Windows drivers for the printer but I've changed it to ESC/POS and the text is dark as it should be. But.......... I'm not sure what happened but I get a "0" printing out at the top left of my receipt, which I didn't have the first time I tried ESC/POS with the printer. Also, I created a logo image as a ".bmp" file and replaced the Easify image in the directory - the result isn't good. Does the file need to be a particular size/format?

Sorry for all the dumb questions; as I get the hang of Easify and get things set up I'm sure they'll diminish!

Re: Faint receipt printing

Apologies, drivers can be ESC/POS compatible or not.

When they are not ESC/POS compatible, we call this a Windows type driver.

Zero "0" appearing at the top of your receipts are usually caused by using the wrong Post Print Command, which can be configured here:

Tools > Options > Point of Sale > Printing > Post Print Command

The default commands are 27,100,12,29,86,0,48

Changing this to 27,100,12,29,86,48 usually removes the leading zero.

Please note, we cannot guarantee that your printer is compatible with these codes as different manufacturers conform to different command code formats. If this is the case for your printer, you'll need to consult the printer manual and construct your decimal command code. With each command separated by a comma.

The default receipt logo is 500 x 255 pixels in size and is saved in the Bitmap Monochrome format and can be found here (replace COMPANY_NAME with your company name):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Easify\COMPANY_NAME\Images\EposReceiptLogo.bmp

If your logo is wider than 500 pixels, it will look very strange when printed on the receipt.
