VAT rounding on Sales Orders

I have a problem

We invoiced a customer in April with a 3 product lines each consisting of a large number of products

The customer has paid us 0.16 per above our sales order gross value

It appears that our VAT calculation method (per line) resulted in this error

Your system will not allow me to overpay the order

You system will not allow me to amend the VAT amount

So what do you suggest I do

The system should be flexible and have ability to change the VAT amount in a Sales Invoice just as in your purchasing system

Or am I missing something here

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

Hi Rasp,

You could try changing the VAT Calculation Mode on the individual order,

The option can be found by opening the order, clicking on the Billing tab and selecting the appropriate mode next to the "VAT Calculation Mode" label

Another way would be to add a line item to the order for the VAT discrepancy amount.

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

This is really an unsatisfactory answer

Whichever of the VAT choices are elected - results in an error

You system is geared towards getting the VAT rounded on each item or number items per line

ie EPOS

The only true VAT amount is 20% of the TOTAL net price

We need the total VAT column to be able to be altered as you can with Purchase Orders

You need to really address this problem urgently

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

We don't allow VAT tweaking on Orders due to advice from HMRC - Easify includes an EPOS so it needs to conform with authorised HMRC Retail VAT calculation methods. However thank you for your comments, they shall be passed onto the development team for consideration.

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

I appreciate your response, but I must comment further

I (none EPOS user) also have a legal obligation to produce Sales invoices with the correct VAT element

You have a responsibility here to enable me to do that.

It needs more than just further consideration

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

HMRC allow for VAT discrepencies due to the different VAT calculations that can be used.

Re: VAT rounding on Sales Orders

I was hoping for more from you

It means what a customer pays dosent match the invoice amount

This leads to a fine mess
