Touch POS

Couple of thing i think might improve the touch POS

1. Is it possible to have the FREE stock levels on each product button so we can see what is available without having to add it to the order first.

2. Is it possible to add a item through the front end without allocating it to the order ( As a forward order ) this way it will stop a product being removed from another order ( could of already been bagged up to go ) to put on the new order as this would be a forward order, Extra button to once adding to add without allocating would be fab.

3. When loading a order could the last 6 digits or so of there mobile be shown on the EPOS , we have several customers with the same name and if they both have a order we need to go to the back end to confirm there details and get the order number to then go back to the EPOS and load up that number.

Re: Touch POS

Thanks for your post and suggestions.

1) You can already see the free stock levels on each product. It can be set under Tools-Options-Point of Sale-Advanced - and tick the 'show product stock levels in POS'.

2) Yes, this is possible. When you press F12 to take payment, if you tick the 'Tick if this is an upfront payment. and leave the order as in progress' button, this will allow you to take payment for the order and will raise the order as In Progress and only allocate the product if you have enough free stock.

3) We'll add to this our requests for our developers to consider.

Re: Touch POS

Hi Alison

On No1 , i have that ticked and its only available in the search box not the actual product button

I'll email a picture of the screen i'm thinking about.

No2 If you add a out of stock product to a new order it comes up with a box saying "Product stock issue" " You can still continue to sell this product but it has been reserved for another customer" if you say NO it doesn't add it to the new order if you say YES it will add it to the order but remove it from a previous order and this is very difficult to find out what one it has removed it from. Could do with a third option ( Add without allocation ) to add the product to the order but not allocate anything so not removing it from any previous order

Re: Touch POS

No.2, Many thanks for the clarification and suggestion... I'll add it to our list of requests.

In the meantime however, if you open the product from the main products window and click on the 'View stock allocations' button (next to where it shows Allocated/Free on the Stock Levels tab), it should show you which order/s the product was allocated to, allowing you to manually adjust them. It will show you a negative stock number for the product until you adjust the original orders it was allocated on.

Re: Touch POS

Hi Jowo,

Thanks for the clarification on the free stock levels on the touch buttons.

We kept the buttons quite simple in the first version because they have to be loaded every time you visit the page they are on, and we didn't want the responsiveness to get too slow.

We're definitely up for the idea of adding more information to the buttons the next time we work on that bit of code so will see what we can do there.

Re: Touch POS

Hi Darius

No problem i completely understand that,

From personal experience of using the system i can't think of anything else that would be needed on them except the free stock levels, If they are on there we could instantly see if it can be sold over the counter and also give the customers a instant option of another product if not

Thanks

Adrian

Re: Touch POS

Hi Just thinking about the touch screen option on free stock , If your looking at it could there be a tick box in the main category options to allow each category to be turned on/off with regards to the touch screen visibility? , This may help if there is any response issue caused by adding the free stock levels on

That would be a useful idea.

We have plans to re-work the categories after the Bill of Materials update, allowing for more ability to set category default values not just limited to margins, and whether the products within are published etc...

We also want to add category images which could be uploaded to websites, and also used on the POS buttons.

Allowing users to choose whether to show the category in the Touch POS would be useful, will add it to the bug tracking system for future review.
