Stock history,

Hi Guys,

Is there a way of showing a product has been ordered?

for example:

I purchase a SKU product 100001 from multiple suppliers, and have orders from different customers, once i am on the order screen can i find out where the item was ordered from? so i can chase delivery and ensure it has been ordered?

Also once a delivery note has been invoiced, should this not mark all the items on there as being delivered?

Thanks in advance

Dave

Re: Stock history,

You can track products that have serial numbers back to their purchase.

To do this, record product serial numbers using the purchase order Serial Numbers tab. It is then possible to search for these individual serial numbers using the purchase order search facility.

Next, enable the serial number column for orders by going to Tools > Options > Orders & Quotes > Advanced > Display serial number column for Orders & Quotes.

This allows you to record the serial number of the product sold against individual line items on an order.

Currently if you have automatic stock control mode set, the line item statuses need to be manually marked as delivered.

We intend to automate this in one of our next updates, so when you change the status of an order to Delivered, your prompted if you'd like to automatically mark all products as Delivered.

Re: Stock history,

John,

Thanks for your prompt reply, by serial numbers do you mean our part number?, we use EAN where we have all our old stock codes, over 5000 products. on every purchase do they need to be inputted manually?

Regards

Dave

Re: Stock history,

No, serial numbers are unique to individual products, part numbers refer to multiple of the same product.

In order to track which product came from which supplier, you'll need a way to identify them. Serial numbers are the usual way to track items as they're usually in the form of a barcode on the packaging of a product. Products that need to be traced, for warranty purposes for example, usually come with a serial number (that can be read by a barcode reader) on the packaging or on the product itself.

If you want to track individual (yet identical) products that aren't marked with a unique serial number, you'll need to make up your own way of tracking them, although this seems like a waste of time.
