Installation Error Codes Explained

Installation Error Codes Explained

(1002) - Error Installing Server

The server part of the Easify installation failed to complete (SQL Server 2005 Express).

These are the most common reasons why this occurs:

+ Not all required Windows updates are installed.

To run windows updates do the following "Start > All Programs > Windows Update".

+ Your Antivirus or firewall software is blocking the installtion.

We advise you temporarily disable your antivirus or third party firewall software during your Easify installtion.

If you are unsure how to do this consult your antivirus or third party firewall provider's website.

(1003) - Error Deleting Server Temporary Files

After installing the Easify database server, the setup couldn't delete some temporay files it uses it perform that part of the installation.

+ The usual reason this error occurs is due to the current windows user not having sufficient permissions. I'd suggest logging on as an administrator for that computer.

+ Your Antivirus or firewall software is blocking the installtion.

We advise you temporarily disable your antivirus or third party firewall software during your Easify installtion.

If you are unsure how to do this consult your antivirus or third party firewall provider's website.

(1003) - Error Deleting HotFix Temporary Files

After installing the Easify database server, the setup couldn't delete some temporay files it uses to perform that part of the installation.

+ Your Antivirus or firewall software is blocking the installtion.

+ This error only occurs if you are running Windows XP SP2, this is an out dated version of Windows XP and I'd highly recommend you run all Windows updates.

(1004) - Error Updating Server Database

The setup couldn't upgrade your Easify database, this can occur for various reasons the main one is stated below.

+ Close down all Easify clients and also any software such as database backup software you may have setup. Then run the Easify setup again.

(1005) - Error Connecting to the Server Database

The connection to the database was refused.

+ Your Antivirus or firewall software is blocking the installtion.

We advise you temporarily disable your antivirus or third party firewall software during your Easify installtion.

If you are unsure how to do this consult your antivirus or third party firewall provider's website.

(1006) - Error Creating Database

Failure to free up existing database files so a fresh Easify database of the same name can be installed.

+ An Easify database installation was attempted but failed as the database was still in use or locked. If you have no further use for the existing database uninstall it using the following steps (WARNING: All data will be lost, make a backup and put it on an external drive):

  • Close down all Easify clients and also any software such as database backup software you may have setup.
  • Follow the steps under the header of Uninstalling SQL Server 2005 to uninstall the Easify database in this tutorial.
  • Then run the Easify setup again and install the Easify database.

(1007) - Error Creating Database Tables

The part of the programme that creates the database structures produced an error.

(1008) - Error Creating Database Sprocs

The part of the programme that creates the database proceedures produced an error.

(1009) - Error Installing Crystal Reports

While copying the Crystal Reports installer to the Windows Temporary folder or when trying to open the Crystal Reports installer from the Windows Temporary folder, the Easify installer encountered an error.

+ The usual reason this error occurs is due to the current windows user not having sufficient permissions. It is recommended to run the installer while logged in on a local Administrator user account.

+ If being logged in as an Administrator doesn't resolve your issue, this indicates you have a problem with your copy of Windows that means your computer doesn't know how to open MSI install files. This issue is best resolved by an IT professional by resetting your file association settings for the MSI file type.

(1010) - Error Installing HotFix KB921337

While trying to install a Microsoft hot fix for Windows XP SP2, an error occured.

This error occuring usually means one of two things; you have an antivirus or third party firewall software that is stopping the update from running; or a corrupted version of Windows XP SP2.

+ This error only occurs if you are running Windows XP SP2, this is an out dated version of Windows XP and I'd highly recommend you run all Windows updates.
