STOCK LEVELS

Hi,

been thinking about stock levels, i know that on full auto the system wont let you oversell, and on semi it will, one one thing that would be really good is for the levels to go into - (minus).

Reason: start the day with 5 x widget, sell them during the day and then a delivery turns up and you now have 10 x widgets in stock, but still in the box and not yet added to the levels in easify, so during the day as customers want a said widget you take it stright from the box and scan it and sell it, you stock levels will be stuck at zero, so when you then ad the stock into easyfi you have to remember that you sold x amount during the day.

If it did go into minus then you could just ad the 10 x into stock and it would update to the correct amount ie : sell five from the box,via easify would give you a stock of -(minus five) at day end or when you have time to enter your delivery you enter 10 x (as what you had delivered) and your stock would tally up giving a level of 5

sorry this seems t be long post, I hope that you understand what i mean

Re: STOCK LEVELS

Hi Ste,

No such thing as too long a post for us software developers - the more detail you give us, the easier our job becomes

That's a very good idea and one that we'll definitely look at closely. Will raise it on our issue tracking system so that the next time we're in that part of the code we can look at the ramifications of allowing -ve stock levels.

Looks good on the surface though - cheers.

Re: STOCK LEVELS

Having minus stock levels is really useful as long as you can run a minus stock level report.

We used this in my pevious job. I would really be in favour of this as long as you can report on it.

Yes, would welcome this also, used this in previous job also and makes a lot of sense as long as negative qty report is available to keep things tidy

Re: STOCK LEVELS

Hi Steve,

-ve stock levels is on our system to be done (Item #1894) and is flagged to be done in Feature Pack 9 (FP9).

Just to give you an idea of our future roadmap, we're going to be releasing an EASU ecommerce update on Wednesday 28th of this month which will include some free open source website plugins for Easify, some minor tweaks to the Easify client as well as some much requested updates to the product importing system.

We're also currently working on Feature Pack 8 which we hope to release around November 2013. We haven't announced all the updates for FP8 yet, but it will include a comprehensive promotions/discounting system and various ecommerce additions.

We're then onto FP9 which will largely focus on adding and overhauling the accounting features of Easify so FP9 is going to be the financial update. Because we're going to be causing massive trauma to the code for FP9, and will be doing a huge re-test, we're going to use this time to address high impact issues such as -ve stock levels.

Not yet I'm afraid, we have just released Feature Pack 8, this is being considered for Feature Pack 9.
